This section will teach you how to start an interactive job using Stata as an example. Batch mode is ideal when you have large jobs that you don't want to sit around and watch, and it also gives you the ability to run multiple codes at one time. Interactive mode is likely more familiar, and it gives you the ability to browse the data and try different commands easily. In batch mode, you submit jobs to the server via a Command Line Interface you'll get an email when the job begins and ends, and then you can view the results (e.g., log files, graphs, etc.).īoth job types have their advantages and disadvantages.
